We’re delighted to announce that Laura Barnes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems and Information Engineering, has been awarded the Center Fellowship for Fall 2017-18. Laura directs the Sensing Systems for Health Lab which focuses on designing innovative, technology-enabled solutions to understand health and well-being. This work is directly aligned with the Center’s own application of wearable mobile sensors to capture human body-mind responses whilst people interact and move through the built environment. The Center is working on a number of collaborations with Laura on mobility in older people and ‘blue health’ (the effect of water settings on mental health). We very much look forward to building further collaborations with Laura withing the School of Architecture and beyond during her Fellowship.
